Assisted stretching
Assisted stretching rather than rubbing — the session for bodies that are stiff rather than sore, and the one athletes tend to convert to permanently.

Thai yoga massage is done fully clothed on a mat, and it is closer to being moved through a yoga practice by someone else than it is to a massage. Compression, rhythmic rocking and assisted stretches take joints through range under a therapist's control.
If ninety minutes on a mat is not what you want, the Table Top Thai Stretch brings the same assisted-stretch approach to a standard table at $85 for thirty minutes or $150 for an hour. It is the most efficient thing on this menu for restricted hips and shoulders.
How it runs
Where range actually stops, rather than where you think it does. The two are rarely the same.
Rhythmic compression along the sen lines settles tissue so that the stretch is accepted instead of resisted.
The therapist takes the joint through the movement, so you are not defending the end range yourself.
The same movement checked at the end. It is the clearest before-and-after of anything on this menu.

Questions
Loose, comfortable clothing you can move in — leggings or joggers and a t-shirt. No oil is used.
Both are offered. Thai Yoga Massage is on the mat at $240 for 90 minutes; Table Top Thai Stretch is on the table at $85 for 30 minutes or $150 for 60.
It should be a strong stretch, never a sharp one. The stretch is taken to where the tissue gives, and communication through the session is part of the technique.
People who are stiff rather than sore: runners, cyclists, lifters, and anyone whose hips have not properly moved since they took a desk job.
Not the day before. Assisted stretching changes proprioception for a day or two — leave three to four days between a Thai session and anything you are competing in.
A sports massage works into tissue. Thai moves joints through range. If your problem is a knot, book the Ritual Massage; if your problem is that you cannot reach your toes, book this.
For a targeted area, yes. The 30-minute Table Top Thai Stretch at $85 works well as an add-on habit between longer sessions.
